Harvest Studio is the studio and classroom of Cynthia Gehrie, botanical artist.
She received extensive training and a certificate of merit in botanical art from the Chicago Botanical Garden. Her work is dedicated to the landscape, wildlife and plants of the Loess Hills. This includes native wildflowers and heirloom fruit and vegetables. She works in a variety of media including watercolor, soft pastel, carbon dust on film and graphite.
Harvest Studio is a documentation center for Living Loess. Using videography and botanical art, Cynthia reflects wildflowers, gardens, landscapes, critters, and human endeavor. Art exhibits and video presentations can be added to bus tours at the Loess Hills Wood Works, or as a stop at the studio for small groups. All are invited to join in classes and demonstrations with the theme of documenting and celebrating life in the hills.
As a videographer, Cynthia’s projects include a variety of video pieces featuring the Loess Hills including working vintage farm equipment and prescribed burns. Here are some samples on YouTube.
